Credential Assistance Test Site

Fort Hood has been selected as a Limited User Test Site for the Army’s new professional credentialing/certification program. This program gives Soldiers the opportunity to earn professional civilian certifications and credentials. The formal press announcement is at 1030 on 14 August on Fort Cavazos with CONG Carter, Undersecretary Ryan McCarthy, and Sergeant Major of the Army Daily. The Credentialing Assistance program includes financial assistance for voluntary, off-duty training and education in support of Soldiers’ professional development which leads to licensure or certification. Credentialing Assistance is similar to Tuition Assistance however Tuition Assistance is authorized to pay only for tuition. Credentialing Assistance is authorized to pay for hands-on training, online or blended classroom instruction and boot camps, required learning resources and equipment, and fees associated with examination process, as well as continuing education requirements that lead to the maintenance and recertification of an earned credential.
